This survey chapter discusses recent and ongoing projects in grid generation and scientific visualization at the National Science Foundation (NSF) Engineering Research Center for Computational Field Simulation. The chapter provides a brief overview of standard grid generation techniques and summarizes the design requirements and current functionality of the National Grid Project, a universal, interactive grid generation system. Several projects that have led to powerful visualization systems are discussed
